Privacy and cookies

This website has two forms: one to ask us to ring you back, and one to join the waiting list. Each asks for four things. This page says exactly what happens to them, and it is the whole of what this site collects.

Last updated

This page covers this website, bskview.com. The product itself, the app at app.bskview.com, has its own separate privacy notice, which covers using BSK View itself.

Who we are

BSK View is a trading name of Tavern Creative Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11100975. Our registered office is 84 Abbots Walk, Wye, Kent TN25 5ES.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZB110990 (opens in a new tab).

We are the data controller for the information described on this page. That means we decide what is collected and what happens to it, and we are the ones answerable for it.

What we collect

The contact form asks for four things:

  • Your name, so we know who we are speaking to.
  • Your business name, so we know what you run.
  • Your phone number, so we can ring you back.
  • A short description of what you do, in your own words, so the call starts somewhere useful.

The waiting list asks for four things as well. It takes an email address where the contact form takes a phone number, because the whole point of it is that we can write to you when we open:

  • Your name, so we know who we are writing to.
  • Your business name, so we know what you run.
  • Your email address, so we can tell you when BSK View opens. That is what it is for.
  • A short description of what you do, in your own words, so we know which businesses are waiting and what they need.

That is the entire list. Neither form asks for your postcode, your card details or anything about your customers. If you email us instead, we have whatever you chose to tell us and the address you used.

If you joined the waiting list earlier in the year, before we paused it, you are on the same list and everything below applies to you in the same way.

Why we collect it

The contact form: to ring you back about your enquiry, and to have a sensible conversation when we do. That is the only reason.

The waiting list: to email you once, when BSK View opens, to tell you it has. We may also send a short message before then if something changes that you would want to know about, such as the timing moving.

We think of that as the message you asked us for rather than marketing, because you joined a list whose only purpose is to receive it. Either way, here is the commitment: we will not add you to a newsletter and we will not start a sequence of sales emails off the back of it. Every message we send will tell you how to come off the list, and replying to it and saying so will always be one of the ways. You can ask us to remove you at any point before that too, and we will, without asking why.

For both forms: we do not sell, rent or pass your details to anyone who wants to sell you something.

Our lawful basis

For an enquiry, we rely on legitimate interests: you have asked a business to get in touch, and replying to you is the obvious and expected thing for us to do with the details you left. Nobody is surprised by the call they asked for. Because that is our basis, you can object to it at any time. Tell us and we will stop.

For the waiting list, we rely on your consent. You give it by joining the list, which is an act with no other purpose, and you can withdraw it whenever you like by telling us. Withdrawing it does not undo anything we did beforehand, and it does not cost you anything.

Who else sees it

Two companies, both acting on our instructions and neither allowed to use your details for anything of their own:

  • Resend. Delivers what you send us as an email. They handle the message in transit and hold a copy of it in their delivery logs. Resend’s privacy policy.
  • Vercel. Hosts the website and runs the form. What you submit passes through their servers on its way to us. They also provide the visitor statistics described under Cookies below. Vercel’s privacy policy.

Nobody else. There is no advertising network, no tracking pixel and no third party watching what you do on this site.

Where it is processed

Both companies are based in the United States and both may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, which in practice means standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum to them.

If you would like a copy of the safeguards that apply to your information, ask us and we will send them.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not turn into you becoming a customer, we delete it after 24 months.

If you joined the waiting list, we keep your details until we have written to tell you BSK View is open, or for 24 months, whichever comes first. Then we delete them, unless you have asked us to keep you posted or become a customer in the meantime.

If you do become a customer, your details move into our records for that relationship, and those are covered by the agreement we sign with you rather than by this page.

Your rights

You can ask us to do any of the following, free of charge:

  • See it. Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
  • Correct it. Tell us something is wrong and we will fix it.
  • Delete it. Ask us to erase it. We will, unless the law says we have to keep it.
  • Pause it. Ask us to hold on to it but stop using it while something is sorted out.
  • Object to it. Tell us to stop processing it. Because we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time.
  • Take it with you. Ask for it in a common format you can pass to someone else.

The quickest way to ask is to email hello@businesssortedkent.co.uk. You can also use the contact form or write to us, using the details in the next section. We will respond within one month, and we may need to check who you are before we hand anything over.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right, but you do not have to.

How to contact us

About anything on this page, or about your information generally, in whichever way suits you:

Cookies

This website sets no cookies of any kind. Not ours, not anyone else’s.

Two things are stored on your device, and neither is a cookie. Both live in your browser’s session storage, which means your browser throws them away when you close the tab. Neither holds anything that identifies you, and neither is sent to another website.

  • If you use the savings calculator, a marker saying it was used, so that we count you once rather than every time you change a figure. It holds nothing you typed.
  • If you arrived from a recommendation link shared by an existing customer, the code from the end of that link. It is there so the code the link carries is still attached when you reach a call to action, even if you read a few pages first. It says nothing about you: it identifies the customer who shared the link, not the person following it.

We do measure how the site is doing, using Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. Both are cookieless. They count page views and record how quickly pages load, and they do not identify you, follow you between websites or build a profile of you.

Which is why there is no cookie banner on this site. Those banners exist to ask permission for tracking, and we are not doing any. If that ever changes, the banner will appear and this page will say so before it does.
